Nov. 7th, 2002 So I went and asked a few *seriously* hardcore comic artists/fanboys on PA's "phorums" what they thought about my little endevaour. They absolutely loathe it :). Which I expected anyway, I mean they're used to seeing AND making the best there is, so after a week of doing this I was well prepared for the total carnage they had in store for me; tearing my creative motivation appart limb from limb ;). I did get what I wanted, though, and that was some free advice. Received through flaming, yes, but I forced my ego to back off in the interest of progress. I'm already putting to use some of this new found knowledge (which may not be apparent *yet* in today's strip, but if I preserve, soon it will). |

L!OS explained: (repeated on EVERY page) The characters are based on people I know and love (or hate), but very loosely so. I did this because It's way more satisfying making up stories about people you KNOW, instead of making up new ones ;). I already know about their personalities, so ideas flow more naturally. The stories themselves may seem a bit childish to some, but to me, they're reality. Things I think about. You might not see past the obvious, sometimes vulgar jokes, when viewing my comics, but they're my means of expression. In real life I tend to offend people more than I'd like anyway, so a few more strangers on the internet won't matter much :) |
